THE JESUS AND MARY CHAIN will celebrate their 40th anniversary in 2024 with the release of Glasgow Eyes, their first studio album since 2017’s Damage And Joy. Due out March 8, this album marks a return to their roots and was recorded at Mogwai’s Castle of Doom studio in Glasgow. The Reid brothers will also present their autobiography, a documentary, and a world tour. Glasgow Eyes maintains the essence of their signature sound, with the fusion of guitars and electronics, although it also incorporates new influences, such as jazz. Despite past conflicts between the brothers, Jim Reid assures that they have learned to manage their differences, and the band remains true to its rebellious and anarchic spirit. Although the band has evolved, Jim emphasizes that the new album is as good as their previous records, and that they are still the same independent and outsider band as always.
